# Claiming Land Guide

Protecting your base and belongings is essential on PokeKingdoms! This guide covers everything you need to know about claiming land using the Flan protection system.

## 🎯 What is Land Claiming?

Land claiming protects your builds, chests, and items from other players. Once you claim an area:

* Other players cannot break or place blocks (by default)
* Your chests and containers are locked
* Pokemon and items are protected
* You control who can access your land through groups

***

## 🛠️ How to Claim Land

### Getting Claim Blocks

You earn claim blocks through:

* **Playtime** - Automatically earned while playing
* **Voting** - Bonus claim blocks from `/voting`
* **Vote Crates** - Each Vote Crate contains **200-500 claim blocks** as a possible reward
* **Ranks** - Higher ranks may get more claim blocks
* **Purchases** - Available in the server store

### Check Your Claim Blocks

Hold the claiming tool (Golden Hoe) to see your current claim blocks and usage displayed.

### Creating Your First Claim

**The Claiming Tool: Golden Hoe** The default claiming tool in Flan is a **Golden Hoe** (not a shovel!).

**Creating a Claim:**

1. Get a Golden Hoe
2. Right-click one corner of the area you want to claim
3. Right-click the opposite corner to complete the claim
4. You'll receive a confirmation message when successful

**Alternative: Using Commands**

```
/flan add <x y z> <x y z>
```

Creates a claim between two coordinate points.

```
/flan add all
```

Creates the maximum size claim you can afford.

```
/flan add rect <size>
```

Creates a rectangular claim of the specified size.

{% hint style="info" %}
The area between your two clicks will be claimed, creating a rectangular protected zone from bedrock to sky!
{% endhint %}

***

## 📏 Claim Rules

### Distance Requirements

{% hint style="danger" %}
**Important:** Claims must be at least **150 blocks away** from other players' claims unless you have explicit permission!
{% endhint %}

This rule helps:

* Prevent conflicts between players
* Maintain server aesthetics
* Give everyone space to expand

### Inspecting Claims

Use a **Stick** (the default inspection tool) to check if a block is claimed:

* Right-click a block with a stick
* It will tell you if it's claimed and by whom

***

## 🎮 Managing Your Claims

### Accessing Claim Menu

Stand inside your claim and type:

```
/flan menu
```

This opens a GUI where you can manage all claim settings, permissions, and groups!

### Basic Claim Commands

#### List Your Claims

```
/flan list
```

Shows all your claims and their locations.

#### Name Your Claim

```
/flan name <name>
```

Give your claim a custom name for easy identification.

#### Expand Your Claim

```
/flan expand <distance>
```

Expands your claim in the direction you're facing.

#### Resize Claims

Right-click one corner of your existing claim with the Golden Hoe, then click another block to set the new boundary.

#### Delete a Claim

```
/flan delete
```

Removes the claim you're currently standing in (claim blocks are returned).

```
/flan deleteAll
```

Removes ALL your claims (requires confirmation).

#### Transfer Ownership

```
/flan transferClaim <player>
```

Transfers ownership of the current claim to another player.

***

## 👥 Managing Permissions with Groups

Flan uses a **group-based permission system** instead of simple trust commands.

### Default Groups

Every claim automatically has two groups:

**1. Co-Owner**

* Has nearly all permissions
* Can build, break, and access everything
* Cannot delete the claim

**2. Visitor**

* Has limited permissions
* Can perform non-destructive actions
* Cannot build or break blocks by default

### Managing Groups

**Open Group Management:**

```
/flan menu
```

Then navigate to the groups section in the GUI.

**Or use personal groups:**

```
/flan personalGroups
```

**Add/Remove Groups via Command:**

```
/flan group add <name>
/flan group remove <name>
```

### Adding Players to Groups

1. Open `/flan menu`
2. Click on a group (left-click)
3. Add or remove players from that group

### Customizing Group Permissions

1. Open `/flan menu`
2. Right-click on a group
3. Edit the specific permissions for that group
4. Permissions can be set to:
   * **Allow** - Permission granted
   * **Deny** - Permission explicitly denied
   * **Default** - Use claim's default setting

***

## 🔧 Permission System

### Claim-Wide Permissions

Set default permissions for everyone in your claim:

```
/flan permission global
```

Common permissions include:

* Breaking blocks
* Placing blocks
* Using doors/buttons
* Opening containers
* Attacking entities
* Interacting with items
* And many more!

### Group-Specific Permissions

Override claim defaults for specific groups:

```
/flan permission group
```

This allows fine-grained control over who can do what in your claim.

***

## 📦 Subclaims

Create claims within claims with separate permissions!

### Creating Subclaims

1. Switch to subclaim mode:

```
/flan switchMode SUBCLAIM
```

2. Use your Golden Hoe inside your existing claim
3. Right-click two corners to create the subclaim
4. Subclaim positions must be inside the parent claim

### Managing Subclaims

Subclaims have their own permission settings that can differ from the parent claim!

**Delete a Subclaim:**

```
/flan deleteSubClaim
```

**Delete All Subclaims:**

```
/flan deleteAllSubClaims
```

**Switch Back to Normal Mode:**

```
/flan switchMode DEFAULT
```

***

## 🆘 Useful Commands

### Trapped?

```
/flan trapped
```

Teleports you out of a claim after 5 seconds if you're stuck.

### Set Home Point

```
/flan setHome
```

Sets your claim's spawn location to your current position.

```
/flan teleport self <name>
```

Teleport to one of your own claims by name.

### View Claim Info

```
/flan info
```

Shows detailed information about the claim you're standing in.

## 🏗️ Claim Building Tips

### Planning Your Claim

1. **Start Small**
   * Claim only what you need initially
   * Expand as you build and earn more claim blocks
   * Save claim blocks for multiple bases if desired
2. **Claim Strategically**
   * Include resource nodes (trees, water, etc.)
   * Consider future expansion
   * Protect important landmarks
3. **Vertical Protection**
   * Claims protect from bedrock to sky
   * No need to worry about vertical dimensions

### Building Within Claims

**Protected by Default:**

* All blocks you place
* Chests and storage
* Crops and farms
* Animals and Pokemon
* Item frames and armor stands

**Best Practices:**

* Build a clear entrance for visitors
* Add players to appropriate groups
* Create subclaims for sensitive areas
* Use the Visitor group for public access areas

***

## 🚨 Common Issues & Solutions

### "You don't have permission to build here"

* You're in someone else's claim
* Ask the owner to add you to a group
* Or move to unclaimed land

### "You don't have enough claim blocks"

* Play more to earn blocks passively
* Vote daily for bonus claim blocks
* Consider abandoning unused claims
* Check the store for claim block packages

### "Claims too close to existing claim"

* Move at least 150 blocks away
* Ask the nearby claim owner for permission
* Use the inspect tool (stick) to check boundaries

### Accidental Claims

* Use `/flan delete` while standing in it
* Your claim blocks will be refunded
* Make sure to remove items first!

***

## 📊 Claim Sizes Reference

### Minimum Claim Sizes

* **Starter Base:** 10x10 (100 blocks)
* **Small House:** 15x15 (225 blocks)
* **Medium Base:** 30x30 (900 blocks)
* **Large Base:** 50x50 (2,500 blocks)
* **Community Hub:** 100x100+ (10,000+ blocks)

{% hint style="info" %}
Remember: Claims protect from bedrock to sky, so you only need to worry about the ground area!
{% endhint %}

***

## ⚖️ Claim Etiquette

### DO:

* ✅ Respect the 150 block distance rule
* ✅ Build appropriate structures (no NSFW or hateful builds)
* ✅ Keep claim boundaries reasonable
* ✅ Help neighbors with projects
* ✅ Communicate with nearby claim owners

### DON'T:

* ❌ Build right next to someone without permission
* ❌ Make massive claims you don't use
* ❌ Build lag-inducing structures
* ❌ Claim just to block other players
* ❌ Leave trash outside your claim

***

## 💡 Advanced Claim Tips

1. **Multiple Bases**
   * You can have multiple separate claims
   * Useful for resource outposts
   * Use `/flan list` to track them all
2. **Claim Maintenance**
   * Check your claims periodically with `/flan list`
   * Remove unused claims to free up blocks
   * Expand when needed, not preemptively
3. **Security Layers**
   * Use groups for different access levels
   * Create subclaims for extra-sensitive areas
   * Keep valuables in restricted subclaims
4. **3D Claims**
   * Use `/flan switchMode 3D` for height-specific claims
   * Useful for underground bases or sky platforms
5. **Custom Groups**
   * Create custom groups for different friend circles
   * Set specific permissions per group
   * Better control than one-size-fits-all permissions

***

## 📝 Inactivity Policy

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Claims may be reset after **45 days of continuous inactivity**
{% endhint %}

* Make sure to log in regularly to keep your claim
* If you need to take a break, contact staff
* Take screenshots of your builds as backup
* Store extremely valuable items with trusted friends

***

# Breeding Guide

Breeding is one of the most important features on PokeKingdoms! This guide will teach you everything about the Daycare system and how to breed competitive Pokemon.

## 🎯 What is Breeding?

Breeding allows you to:

* Obtain eggs that hatch into new Pokemon
* Pass down stats (IVs) from parent Pokemon
* Pass down Natures
* Pass down Egg Moves
* Create competitive Pokemon for battles and trading
* Earn money by selling bred Pokemon on STS

***

## 🏠 Using the Daycare

PokeKingdoms uses the **CobbleDaycare** mod for breeding!

### Accessing the Daycare

```
/daycare
```

This opens the Daycare interface where you can manage breeding.

### Daycare Interface

The Daycare window allows you to:

* Place two compatible Pokemon for breeding
* Monitor breeding progress
* Retrieve eggs
* Manage multiple breeding pairs (depending on configuration)

{% hint style="info" %}
For detailed information about the CobbleDaycare mod, check out the [official documentation](https://zonary123-dev.gitbook.io/zonary123-dev-docs/mods/free-mods/cobbledaycare)!
{% endhint %}

***

## 💑 Breeding Compatibility

### Egg Groups

Pokemon can only breed if they share at least one Egg Group:

**Common Egg Groups:**

* **Monster** - Bulbasaur, Charmander, Tyranitar, etc.
* **Water 1** - Squirtle, Psyduck, Lapras, etc.
* **Field** - Pikachu, Eevee, Growlithe, etc.
* **Fairy** - Clefairy, Jigglypuff, Marill, etc.
* **Dragon** - Dratini, Bagon, Gible, etc.
* **Bug** - Caterpie, Scyther, Heracross, etc.
* **Flying** - Pidgey, Spearow, Farfetch'd, etc.

### Special Cases

**Ditto**

* Ditto can breed with almost any Pokemon (except some legendaries)
* Perfect for breeding when you only have one of a species
* Does NOT pass down IVs as effectively as breeding two of the same species

**Genderless Pokemon**

* Can only breed with Ditto
* Examples: Magnemite, Porygon, Rotom

**Legendary Pokemon**

* Most legendaries CANNOT breed
* Some exceptions may apply (check in-game)

***

## 🧬 Breeding Mechanics

### IVs (Individual Values)

IVs are hidden stats that determine your Pokemon's potential:

* Range from 0-31 for each stat
* Higher IVs = Stronger Pokemon
* 6 Stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Sp. Attack, Sp. Defense, Speed

**IV Inheritance:**

* Each baby Pokemon inherits 3 random IVs from its parents
* The other 3 IVs are randomly generated
* Use high IV parents for better offspring

{% hint style="success" %}
**Pro Tip:** To breed perfect Pokemon, start with parents that have good IVs in different stats!
{% endhint %}

### Natures

Natures affect which stats grow faster:

**Beneficial Natures (Examples):**

* **Adamant** - +Attack, -Sp. Attack (physical attackers)
* **Modest** - +Sp. Attack, -Attack (special attackers)
* **Jolly** - +Speed, -Sp. Attack (fast physical)
* **Timid** - +Speed, -Attack (fast special)
* **Bold** - +Defense, -Attack (physical walls)
* **Calm** - +Sp. Defense, -Attack (special walls)

**Nature Inheritance:**

* Give a parent an **Everstone** to pass down its nature 100%
* Without Everstone, nature is random

{% hint style="info" %}
Everstone is essential for breeding! Find it in caves or from mining.
{% endhint %}

### Abilities

* Babies have a chance to inherit the mother's ability
* Hidden Abilities can be passed down if the parent has one
* Breed with a Pokemon that has the desired ability

### Egg Moves

Some moves can only be learned through breeding:

* Father must know the move
* Move must be in the baby's egg move list
* Very useful for competitive movesets

***

## 🔄 Pokebuilder vs. Breeding

### When to Use Each Method

| Aspect              | Pokebuilder      | Breeding         |
| ------------------- | ---------------- | ---------------- |
| **Cost**            | Tokens (limited) | Time + items     |
| **Speed**           | Instant          | Hours to days    |
| **Legendaries**     | ✅ Can modify     | ❌ Can't breed    |
| **Bulk Production** | ❌ Token limited  | ✅ Unlimited eggs |
| **Learning Curve**  | Easy             | Moderate         |
| **Best For** | Final touches | Mass production |

**Hybrid Approach (Recommended):**

1. Breed Pokemon to 4-5 perfect IVs
2. Use Pokebuilder to perfect the last 1-2 IVs
3. Adjust nature if breeding didn't give you the right one

Only Pokemon caught **after** the hunt started count. You can't turn in Pokemon from your existing collection.

# Mega Evolution

Mega Evolution is available on PokeKingdoms. We have all Mega Evolutions from the original games.

## 🔧 How Mega Evolution Works

To Mega Evolve a Pokemon in battle, you need two things:

When both conditions are met, you'll have the option to Mega Evolve during battle.

### Rules

* Only **one Pokemon** on your team can be Mega Evolved at a time
* Mega Evolution is available both **in and out of battle**
* Mega Pokemon will revert to their base form when a battle starts (then you can Mega Evolve again during that battle)

# Z-Moves

Z-Moves are powerful battle techniques that can be unleashed once per battle. On PokeKingdoms, you earn Z-Crystals by completing in-game quests — no donations or purchases required.

## 🔧 How Z-Moves Work

To use a Z-Move in battle you need two things:

1. **A Z-Ring** — equipped by completing the starter quest
2. **The correct Z-Crystal** — given to your Pokemon as a held item

Each Z-Crystal corresponds to a type (e.g., Firium Z for Fire-type moves) or a specific Pokemon (e.g., Eevium Z for Eevee). When your Pokemon holds the matching Z-Crystal and knows a move of that type, you can activate the Z-Move during battle.

## 🚀 Getting Started

Type `/zmoves` in chat to open the Z-Move quest menu.

### Step 1: Trial of the Z-Ring

Before you can earn any Z-Crystals, you must complete the **Trial of the Z-Ring**. This is a multi-step challenge that tests your skills across all aspects of gameplay:

| Step | Task                      | Target |
| ---- | ------------------------- | ------ |
| 1    | Win wild Pokemon battles  | 100    |
| 2    | Catch Pokemon of any type | 50     |
| 3    | Land super-effective hits | 75     |
| 4    | Mine ore blocks           | 100    |
| 5    | Harvest apricorns         | 50     |
| 6    | Evolve Pokemon            | 25     |
| 7    | Level up Pokemon          | 50     |

**Reward:** Z-Ring + 5,000 Explorer XP

{% hint style="info" %}
These steps must be completed **in order** (sequentially). You cannot work on step 2 until step 1 is finished.
{% endhint %}

### Step 2: Individual Z-Crystal Quests

Each Z-Crystal has its own quest available in the `/zmoves` menu. You can work on these quests independently — you do **not** need to complete the Z-Ring trial first.

Each quest is a multi-step trial themed around the crystal's type. For example, the Firium Z trial involves defeating Fire-type Pokemon, harvesting red apricorns, and breaking magma blocks.

# Terastallization

Terastallization is a battle mechanic that lets you change your Pokemon's type mid-battle, giving it a powerful boost. On PokeKingdoms, you can craft **Tera Shards** and a **Tera Orb** through the NPC **Terastallization Tessa**, located at the **Daycare warp**.

***

## 🔧 How Terastallization Works

When you Terastallize a Pokemon in battle:

* Your Pokemon's type changes to its **Tera type**
* Moves matching the Tera type get a **damage boost**
* Each Pokemon can only Terastallize **once per battle**
* The effect lasts for the **rest of the battle**

To Terastallize, you need a **Tera Orb** and your Pokemon must have a Tera type set.

### Setting a Tera Type

1. Collect **50 Tera Shards** of the type you want
2. **Right-click** on the Pokemon with the Tera Shards to change its Tera type

### Checking a Tera Type

**Right-click** on a Pokemon with your **Tera Orb** to see its current Tera type.

***

## 🔮 Tera Orb

The Tera Orb is required to activate Terastallization in battle.

| Detail         | Info                                              |
| -------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| **Cost**       | 20 Tera Fragments                                 |
| **Crafted at** | Terastallization Tessa (Daycare warp) |
| **Durability** | Has limited durability — wears down with each use |

{% hint style="warning" %}
The Tera Orb has durability and will wear down each time you Terastallize. Keep an eye on its condition and craft a new one when needed.
{% endhint %}

You can also **right-click** a Pokemon with the Tera Orb to check what its current Tera type is.

***

## 💎 Tera Shards

Tera Shards are type-specific items used to set your Pokemon's Tera type. There is one Tera Shard variant for each of the 18 Pokemon types. You need **50 Tera Shards** of one type to change a Pokemon's Tera type — simply **right-click** the Pokemon while holding the shards.

4. **Use your shards** — once you have 50, right-click on a Pokemon to set its Tera type

***

## 📍 Where to Find Tessa

**Terastallization Tessa** is located at the **Daycare warp**. Look for the crystal researcher NPC near the Daycare area. She has a unique story — she spent years studying the crystal formations deep within [Area Zero](/features/area-zero) and discovered how to forge them into Tera items.

***

## 💡 Tips

1. **Get your Tera Orb first** — you need it before Terastallization does anything, and it only costs 20 fragments
2. **Farm Area Zero** — Tera Fragments are only available inside Area Zero, so enter every opening you can. See [Area Zero](/features/area-zero) for details
3. **Check your Tera type** — right-click a Pokemon with your Tera Orb to see its current Tera type before committing shards
4. **Choose your type wisely** — 50 shards is a significant investment, so pick a Tera type that complements your Pokemon's moveset
5. **Watch your Orb durability** — the Tera Orb wears down with use, so plan ahead and be ready to craft another
6. **STAB bonus stacking** — if your Pokemon's original type matches its Tera type, the damage boost is even stronger
7. **Competitive advantage** — Terastallization can turn a bad matchup into a winning one by changing your defensive typing

### STS Best Practices

#### For Sellers

**Pricing Strategies:**

* **Research First** - Check existing listings for similar Pokemon
* **Competitive Pricing** - Price slightly lower than competition for faster sales
* **Value Factors:**
  * Perfect IVs = Premium price
  * Good Nature = Higher value
  * Hidden Ability = Increased worth
  * Shiny = Significant markup
  * Egg Moves = Added value
  * Level/EV Training = Bonus value

**What Sells Well:**

* Competitive-ready Pokemon (perfect IVs + nature)
* Shiny Pokemon (any rarity)
* Starters (especially with good stats)
* Pseudo-legendaries (Dratini, Larvitar, Beldum, etc.)
* Meta Pokemon for competitive battling
* Rare spawns from specific biomes
* Pokemon with Hidden Abilities

**Listing Tips:**

1. ✅ Price fairly for quick sales
2. ✅ List during peak hours (more buyers online)
3. ✅ Perfect Pokemon command premium prices
4. ✅ Be patient with rare Pokemon
5. ✅ Update listings based on market demand

#### For Buyers

**Smart Shopping:**

* **Compare Prices** - Don't buy the first listing you see
* **Check Stats** - Verify IVs, nature, and ability before purchasing
* **Timing** - Prices may be better during off-peak hours
* **Negotiations** - Some sellers may accept offers via chat

**Red Flags:**

* ❌ Price too good to be true (double-check stats)
* ❌ Missing key information in listing
* ❌ Level 1 Pokemon priced extremely high (unless perfect stats)

**Good Deals to Watch For:**

* ✅ Perfect IV Pokemon priced below market
* ✅ Shiny Pokemon with decent stats
* ✅ Rare Pokemon listed by players who don't know their value
* ✅ Breeding pairs (two Pokemon with complementary IVs)
